A Place for Us is an excellent nonprofit organization founded in lived experience and built for real lives. Born from a single, transformative moment — a woman getting on her knees to wash the feet of someone the world had written off — that act of radical grace changed everything for our founder, Lavonnie McManus, calling her into this work. Today, A Place for Us provides certified peer services contracted through Lifebond Behavioral Health, serving men, women, and youth in Spokane and the surrounding region who are navigating incarceration recovery, addiction, housing instability, and the slow, hard work of becoming who you were always meant to be. We believe credentials matter, but credential compares to the authority of someone who has walked through the fire and come out knowing the way.
